PaintBuster Tutorial 3: Photo Enhancement and Manipulation.
Requires a bit of work, but easy done.

First, the dark photo was tuned. I used 20% Brightness, 15% Highlight and 25% Sunlight.

Then I sharpened the photo 10%. |

The real job was removing the hand, but that was also quite easy.
To remove the hand, I used the clone pen, as the zoomed up illustration shows.
The red circle marks the clone position and the arrow marks the paint position and direction. |

As can be seen in the previous illustration, the clone pen often leaves more or less unwanted edges, but using the blend brush I smoothed out those edges. |

After having removed the hand,
I made an accurate clip of the boy. |
|
Finally the clip was pasted to a new background.. |
